Friedrich Porsdorf

Friedrich Porsdorf (born February 25, 1938 in Radebeul ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

After graduating from high school in Dresden in 1957 , Porsdorf studied painting under Kurt Robbel at the Berlin Art School until 1962 .

Between 1962 and 1969 Porsdorf worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist , and he also worked as an artist at the institute for building-related art at his art college. From 1969 to 1970 he received an aspiration there .

From 1970 Porsdorf worked as a lecturer at the Berlin Art Academy, where he was appointed to the teaching area Artistic Basics in 1980. After the fall of the Wall, the new appointment to the teaching institution, which had meanwhile been renamed the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art , followed in 1993 ; From then on he was responsible for basics / painting, drawing / design as well as painting technique / work theory.

Between 1974 and 2002 Porsdorf produced various public commissioned works. He also had numerous personal exhibitions during this period.

From 2003, the year of his 65th birthday, he held a visiting professorship there for artistic fundamentals.

Porsdorf lives in Berlin-Marzahn .
