Friedrich Raben

Friedrich Raben (born March 7, 1854 in Aabenraa , † April 27, 1913 in Hamburg ) was a German-Danish businessman and entrepreneur.

Life

Raben was the son of the ship owner, captain and later senator in Aabenraa Gustav Ferdinand Theodor Raben and his wife Auguste Mathilde Andrea Raben, née Ipland . His mother comes from the Aabenraa captain family Ipland. After training in London and Copenhagen, he first joined his father's company, who ran a shipyard alongside his shipping company. This manufactured in particular ships for the strong trade Apenrades with China and East Asia. Raven's entrepreneurial activities were extremely diversified. In addition to stakes in several shipping companies, he was the owner of the Crusauer copper and brass factory . In 1894 he settled in Hamburg and now also pursued commercial activities in the real estate business. He was also a member of the supervisory board of various companies.
