Friedrich Rantz
Friedrich Rantz (born January 13, 1811 in Cologne ; † January 2, 1847 there ) was a portrait painter from Cologne.
Born the son of a master painter, Rantz studied from 1835 to 1837 in Düsseldorf and from May 11, 1838 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich . After graduating, he worked as a portrait painter in Cologne. His most important works were created in the 1840s. Rantz died in Cologne in 1847 at the age of 36. The artnet website states 1892 as the year of death.
