Friedrich Schragl

Friedrich Schragl (born July 9, 1937 in Steinakirchen am Forst ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic church historian .

Life

He attended the Stiftsgymnasium Seitenstetten and then studied theology in St. Pölten and Vienna . On June 29, 1961 he was ordained a priest in St. Pölten. He was chaplain in Heidenreichstein and Tulln , from 1965 to 1969 Vice Rector in the Episcopal Seminary in Melk , 1969 professor of religion at the Francisco Josephinum in Wieselburg and in 1970 cathedral curate in St. Pölten. From 1971 to 2010 he taught as professor of church history and patrology at the Philosophical-Theological University in St. Pölten . Since 1972 he has lived in the Gerersdorf rectory , where he is also a pastor. He now lives in the Elisabethheim in St. Pölten and continues to work in Gerersdorf.
