Friedrich Schwarz (fencer)

Friedrich Schwarz (* 1880 ; † after 1922) was a German fencer . He fought at MFC 1876 Mainz.

Schwarz won several competitions in various disciplines (foil 1910, saber 1902, 1906 and 1911 as well as the competitions with the bat in 1901 and the heavy saber in 1901, 1903 and 1907) at the Gauverband tournaments of the Gauverband Mittelrheinischer Fechtclubs , the forerunner of the German championships. . At the German championships in 1913 he was sixth with the sword and in 1922 ninth with the saber.

In an international match in Frankfurt in 1910 and the Baltic Games in 1914, black was a member of the German team. He also took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm with the épée and saber. In both weapons he started both individually and in a team. With both teams he finished in seventh place. In the epee singles he was eliminated in the first round, in the saber he reached the semifinals, in which he was last of his round with just one win. He survived the two preliminary rounds with one defeat in two wins.

In 1911, Schwarz was involved in the founding of the German Fencing Association and became an assessor on the association's first board.
