Bonita Melody Lysette "Bonnie" Langford (born July 22, 1964 in Hampton Court , Surrey ) is a British actress .

life and career

Bonnie Langford comes from a family of artists. Her mother was a dance teacher and her great-aunt was a ballerina who performed with Anna Pavlova . In 1970, six-year-old Langford made her first big appearance on the talent show Opportunity Knocks . She sang The Good Ship Lollipop and won the competition. She then appeared in several children's programs, including Just William and the film Bugsy Malone . She also appeared in the musical Gypsy on Broadway in New York . From 1986 to 1987 she played Melanie Bush in the British television series Doctor Who . After Doctor Who , Langford appeared in several musicals and plays. For example, she was seen in Chicago and Cats . In 2006 she took part in the show Dancing on Ice . In 2014 she appeared in the play Dirty Rotten Scoundrels in London's West End . Since 2015 she has played Carmel Kazemi in the British television series EastEnders .

Langford met her future husband Paul Grunert in 1987. They appeared together on a show. In 1995 the couple married in Mauritius. In 2000 they had a daughter. In 2015 the couple divorced.
