Anna Anatoljewna Pawlowa ( Russian Анна Анатольевна Павлова , scientific transliteration Anna Anatol'evna Pavlova ; born September 6, 1987 in Orechowo-Sujewo ) is a Russian gymnast and Olympic participant who has been taking part in Azerbaijan competitions since 2013 .

Career

Pavlova started doing gymnastics at the age of 5. She is trained by her mother Natalja Pavlova and belongs to the MGFSO Dynamo in Moscow. In the choreography she is supported by Olga Maximowa and in the artistic interludes she trains Boris Shuvalov . She gained international fame in 2000 as the winner of the European Junior Championships on the balance beam . Then she won the silver medal on the same device at the Goodwill Games in 2001 .

At the XXVIII. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , she won the bronze medal in jumping with 9.475 points . The winner was the Romanian Monica Roşu with 9,656 points and the silver medal went to the American Annia Hatch with 9,481 points.

She had also previously won bronze in the team competition. The Russian team with Lyudmila Jeschowa , Swetlana Chorkina , Maria Kryuchkova , Jelena Samolodtschikowa and Natalja Zigantschina achieved 113.235 points. Gold went to the team from Romania (114.283) and silver to the USA (113.584).

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 she finished fourth with the Russian team. Even in the all-around competition, as well as in the jump, floor and balance beam finals, she did not succeed in winning a medal.
