Friedrich Seemann (politician)

Friedrich Seemann (born March 28, 1875 in Lübeck , † January 19, 1960 in Beuel am Rhein) was a German politician (SPD).

Live and act

After attending primary school in Lübeck (1881–1889), Seemann completed a three-year locksmith apprenticeship there. In 1897 he became a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and the trade union. He married in 1899. As a trade unionist, he held the office of managing director of the German Metalworkers' Association in Königsberg from 1906 to 1917 .

Seemann sat in the Prussian state parliament from 1919 to 1921 . At the same time he worked as an employee in the High Presidium for East Prussia in Königsberg. On March 7, 1921, due to new elections, Seemann entered the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic , elected in June 1920 , in which he represented constituency 1 (East Prussia) until he left in December 1923. During these years he also took on tasks as party secretary and mayor in Tannenwalde near Königsberg. In 1925 he was elected to the provincial parliament of the province of East Prussia , where he was deputy chairman of the parliament. On March 4, 1927, he resigned from the mandate. From 1923 to 1928 Seemann served as district administrator for the Gerdauen district , then from 1928 until his dismissal by the National Socialists in 1933 as district administrator for the Sangerhausen district . At the same time he was a member of the Prussian State Council from 1926 to 1928 . In 1936 Seemann moved to Braunlage .

After the Second World War , Seemann served again from 1945 to 1950 as district administrator of the Blankenburg district in Braunlage.
