Friedrich Theodor Müller (politician, 1821)

Friedrich Theodor Müller (born May 1, 1821 in Hamburg , † April 16, 1880 in Montreux ) was a German lawyer and Hamburg senator.

During his studies in Jena in 1840, Müller became a member of the Society on the Burgkeller and the fraternity on the Fürstenkeller . He obtained the title of Doctor of Law at the University of Heidelberg in 1843 and settled in Hamburg as a lawyer in the same year. He became a member of the Patriotic Society in 1845 and contributed to the debates at the time with publications on the political issues of his time. In particular, he published several legal opinions on decisions of the Senate. Müller was elected to the Hamburg Constituent Assembly and in 1859 to the Hamburg Parliament . In the same year, however, he resigned his mandate to become secretary of the citizens' committee. On November 8, 1861, Müller was appointed Senate Secretary and after 7 months he was elected to the Hamburg Senate on August 22, 1862 . Müller belonged to the Senate until his resignation for health reasons on May 12, 1869, and Karl Cropp was elected as his successor . In the Senate, Müller was a member of the military department and from 1865 to 1867 Landlord von Ritzebüttel, along with other offices . After leaving the Senate, Müller was re-elected to the Debt Committee, to which he belonged from 1870 until his death in 1880.
