Friedrich Weigel

Friedrich Georg Christoph Weigel (born November 30, 1809 in Schwerin ; † after 1854) was a German printer, bookseller, publisher and member of parliament.

Life

Weigel was the son of a shoemaker. He is proven in Boizenburg from 1840 as a printer, bookseller and publisher. Together with the school principal of the poor school in Boizenburg Ludwig Reinhard , later a member of the Paulskirche, and the domanial doctor Friedrich Wendt (1814-1860) he published the Boizenburg-Hagenower Wochenblatt from 1848 to 1854, the forerunner of the one that appeared since 1840 Boizenburger Wochenblatt was.

Weigel, a proven democrat through his membership in the Boizenburg Reform Association, was elected as a member of the Mecklenburg Assembly in the constituency of Mecklenburg-Schwerin 1 (Boizenburg) in 1848.
