Friedrich Wigand

Friedrich Wigand (born May 29, 1887 in Bielefeld ; † January 30, 1966 there ) was a German politician ( DVP ).

Life

After attending grammar school in Bielefeld, Wigand first studied philology and Protestant theology at the universities in Marburg and Kiel , then political science at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin . During his studies in 1906 he became a member of the Arminia Marburg fraternity . He served as a soldier in World War I and later worked as in-house counsel and managing director for economic associations in Bielefeld and Berlin-Zehlendorf .

Wigand joined the German People's Party (DVP) after the end of the war and was appointed Secretary General of the DVP Westphalia-North. He was a city councilor in Bielefeld. In May 1928 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until the end of the fourth legislative period in 1933. In parliament he represented constituency 17 (Westphalia-North).
