Artur Tiganik

Artur Tiganik (born January 13, 1971 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian brigadier general . From 2014 to 2016 he was Deputy Commander of the Estonian Armed Forces .

Military career

Promotions

After training as an officer in the Soviet Army , Artur Tiganik joined the armed forces in his home country that were being reconstructed in 1992. There he served in various posts in the Kalevi infantry battalion over the next few years . After training and working at the headquarters of the armed forces, he was in command of the Scout Battalion from 2001 to 2004 . In the period between 2005 and 2006, tasks in the administrative area followed. From 2006 to 2008 he was chief of staff and from January 2009 commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade.

In 2009 he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Land Forces - from 2012 he was their chief in command. In the meantime he had completed postgraduate studies at the United States Army War College in 2011 . When the land forces were placed directly under the command of the army in 2014, he moved to the post of deputy commander of the armed forces. In February 2015 he was promoted to Brigadier General.

Tiganik was established in May 2015 Russia with a travel ban occupied.

Private

The general is married and has one daughter. In addition to his mother tongue, he also speaks English and Russian. His hobbies are ice hockey, inline skating and motorcycling.
