Gustav Adolf Kuntz
Gustav Adolf Kuntz (born February 17, 1843 in Wildenfels , Saxony , † May 2, 1879 in Rome ) was a German sculptor and genre painter .
Kuntz first studied sculpture at the Dresden Art Academy under Johannes Schilling (1828–1910). He lived in Rome in 1870/71 and in Weimar in 1871/72. From 1873 he studied painting at the Vienna Art Academy with Christoph Christian Ruben (1805–1875) and Heinrich Anton von Angeli (1840–1925). From 1874/75 and from 1876 to 1879 he lived again in Rome, where he also died young. He mainly created genre pictures with a religious theme.
