Friedrich Wilhelm (Indologist)
Friedrich Wilhelm (born April 12, 1932 ) is a German Indologist, Tibetologist and historian.
Wilhelm received his doctorate in 1956 at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , where he had been a private lecturer in Indology and Tibetology since 1963. In 1969 he became a professor there. In 1998 he retired.
In 1964 and 1967 he was studying in South Asia and was visiting professor at Columbia University in 1965/66 and in 1976 at the Collège de France .
