Friedrich Wilhelm von Kawaczynski ( May 4, 1806 in Warsaw , Russian Empire - November 30, 1876 in Coburg , German Empire ) was a German singer ( tenor ), stage actor , librarian and writer .

Life

Kawaczynski was first tenor in Dresden and Bremen and then switched to acting as a character actor. In 1834 he joined the court theater. In 1844 he became director, in 1848 chief director, in 1868 technical director, in 1870 ducal councilor and in 1873 retired. He then held the position of librarian at the court library and died in Coburg in 1876.

Kawaczynski was also active as a writer, wrote several dramaturgical and theater-historical articles and was a contributor to some theater newspapers and almanacs. A small volume of poems (1835, mixed poems) appeared in bookshops.

He was married to Henriette Louise von Kawaczynski , née Pieglowski, widowed Schäffer.
