Friedrich von Witzleben

Friedrich Hartmann von Witzleben (born May 3, 1802 in Johannisburg , † August 18, 1873 in Collm ) was the Prussian chamberlain and castle captain of Rheinsberg and owner of the Collm manor.

He came from the Thuringian noble family von Witzleben and was the seventh child of Colonel Heinrich von Witzleben (1761-1818), who stayed in East Prussia for a long time. From 1831 to 1834 Friedrich von Witzleben was adjutant to Duke Karl zu Mecklenburg-Strelitz , 1834–1850 chamberlain to Princess Augusta of Prussia, who later became Empress Augusta , and in 1861 Castle captain of Rheinsberg .

In 1836 he married Dorothea von Mecklenburg (1810–1861). This marriage produced five children.

In his spare time made a large number of portraits of people from the Prussian ruling house.
