Friedrich von der Mühll

Friedrich Leonhard "Fritz" von der Mühll (born February 11, 1883 in Basel , † May 15, 1942 in Bern ) was a Swiss ancient historian and high school teacher.

Friedrich von der Mühll came from a widely ramified Swiss family. His father was the businessman Friedrich von der Mühll (1855–1935), his mother Helene nee. Vischer (1861–1957) came from an old Basel patrician family. His younger brother Peter von der Mühll (1885–1970) became a professor of classical philology in Basel, and his sister Henriette married the archaeologist Arnold von Salis .

Friedrich von der Mühll studied Classics and Ancient History at the University of Basel and was established in 1906 at Friedrich Munzer and Adolf Baumgartner (1855-1930) with the Latin written dissertation De L. Appuleio Saturnino tribuno Plebis doctorate . He then worked as a high school teacher in Bern.

Von der Mühll wrote numerous articles for the revision of the Realencyclopadie of classical antiquity .
