Friendly Persuasion is a song written by Dimitri Tiomkin (music) and Paul Francis Webster (lyrics) and released in 1956.

Tiomkin and Webster wrote the song Friendly Persuasion (Thee I Love) (the full title) for the film Alluring Temptation ( Friendly Persuasion , 1956, directed by William Wyler ), with Gary Cooper in the lead role. The song received an Oscar nomination for Best Song in 1957 .
