Friends with Benefits is an American comedy series that premiered on NBC on August 5, 2011 . Originally planned for the 2010–2011 television season, the series was not broadcast until summer 2011.

The five friends Ben, Sara, Riley, Aaron and Julian are all single and try to find a partner for life through modern dating methods. The focus of the series is on Ben and Sara, who help each other to find the right partner, but have a sex relationship. However, their three friends are critical of this type of relationship.

Production and broadcast

A script for the series was originally developed for Network ABC in September 2009. However, the broadcaster did not give the project a pilot episode, so NBC took on the project. Actually Fran Kranz were hired for the role of Aaron and Ian Reed Kesler as Fitz (at that time still Hoon ), but this role was replaced in the pilot episode by Zach Cregger and André Holland . In May 2010 the series was officially ordered.
The first season was broadcast from August 5 to September 9, 2011 in double episodes. The last episode, however, can only be seen on iTunes , Netflix and Amazon.com .
- Germany
The German-language first broadcast began on October 9, 2013 on ProSieben . Since the first seven episodes consistently achieved well below average ratings, the series was taken off the broadcast schedule after three weeks. However, the last six episodes were broadcast on ProSieben Fun in summer 2014.
