Fripa Papierfabrik Albert Friedrich KG is a German manufacturer of hygiene papers based in Düren .
history
In 1911, Hermann Friedrich founded a paper processing company in Berlin . In 1932 his sons Kurt and Albert (who later gave the company its name) took over management of the plant. 1948 eventually came under the leadership of his son Albert Frederick the Fripa paper mill (short for: Fri edrich Pa pier) at the new location in Miltenberg . There exclusively crepe products were produced until 1972, after which the installation was carried out a tissue - paper machine . In 1994 a modern, fully automatic high-bay warehouse was put into operation. Since 1998 processing lines for toilet paper, household rolls and tissue paper have been created.
In 2008 a third paper machine for tissue papers was put into operation in Miltenberg. This was followed by a conversion of the company's energy supply using a combined heat and power plant. In 2011 the new construction and commissioning of a four-aisle high-bay warehouse with modernization and integration of the existing logistics units took place. In 2014 paper machine 1 was taken out of continuous operation and in February 2015 the new paper machine 7 (PM7) was put into operation.
Part of the waste heat generated during paper production is fed into a specially built local heating network and supplies the Johannes-Butzbach-Gymnasium, the Realschule and the Stötzner School in Miltenberg. For this environmentally friendly heat supply, the Miltenberg and Fripa districts received the 2018 Climate Protection Prize awarded by the Nature Conservation Federation .
