Frisia Loga (officially: Sportverein Frisia Loga von 1930 eV ) is a sports club in the Loga district of Leer . The first soccer team played from 1947 to 1949 in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony.

history

The club was founded in 1930 by members of two street teams. In 1947 Frisia qualified for the Landesliga Weser / Ems , where they played for two years. A highlight was the local derby against VfL Germania Leer in front of 3500 spectators. In 1949 the club was one of the founding members of Amateur League 1 , which it belonged to until 1963. In 1956, the rise of Germania Leer prevented Frisia's decline.

After many years at the local level, he returned to the Landesliga Weser / Ems in the 1994/95 seasons, from 1996 to 1998 and in the 2003/04 season . After the regional league championship in 2011, the team is back in the regional league. Two years later, he was relegated to the district league again.

During the 2002/03 season, Uwe Eckel, a former Bundesliga player, played for Frisia Loga.
