Fritz-Worm-Stein

The Fritz-Worm-Stein is a boulder in the Baltic Sea off the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

The stone is located a few meters north of the Lobber village off the coast of the Mönchgut peninsula . It has a volume of 17 m³ and a weight of about 46 tons. About 90% of the stone is visible.

The stone was torn from the cliff of Lobber Ort during a storm in 1913/14 and was later named after the Mönchgut homeland researcher Fritz Worm (1863-1931). Based on the position of the stone, today about 20 meters in the water off the coast, the decline in the coastline becomes clear.
