Fritz Behrend (Germanist)

Friedrich "Fritz" Rudolf Behrend (born August 5, 1878 in Berlin ; † March 14, 1939 there ) was a German specialist in German studies and archivist . He was a lecturer at the Technical University in Berlin.

Life

After attending school, he studied. In 1905 he received his doctorate as Dr. phil. The subject of his dissertation was: About the author of the "Donkey King" . He became a scientific official at the Prussian Academy of Sciences in Berlin. There he was archivist of the manuscript archive of the German Commission at the Prussian Academy of Sciences and the editor of the annual reports for modern German literature and the annual reports for Germanic philology. At the same time, Fritz Behrend worked as a lecturer at the Technical University of Berlin and carried the title of professor.

Fritz Behrend lived in Berlin-Zehlendorf , Juttastraße 3. He was a member of the Association for the History of Berlin and published several times on German and historical topics related to the capital of the Reich.
