Fritz Dodes

Fritz Dodes (born March 14, 1944 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian sports editor and radio spokesman for the Austrian broadcasting company .

Life

Fritz Dodes' father died early; he died in Belgium on November 21, 1944 during World War II . A few years later his mother remarried, but Fritz Dodes kept his father's name and began a career as a stadium announcer in the Vienna Radstadion, today's Ferry-Dusika-Hallenstadion . He later became a spokesperson for Radio Ö3's sports studio . From 1968 until his retirement in 2003, Fritz Dodes worked as a sports editor at ORF . During this time he appeared in 2,370 reports and 2,340 broadcasts as a presenter, and was also the head of the service 921 times . He also reported on the Tour of Austria between 1968 and 1996 . From 1976 to 1996 he was a moderator at the Olympic Games . The Austrian Radcup was his idea.

In 1981 he had a guest role in the TV crime series " Kottan determined ".

Dodes has been married since September 8, 1970 and has two daughters with his wife.
