Fritz Graessler

Fritz Gräßler (born October 2, 1904 in Fürth ; † March 29, 1972 ibid) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Gräßler did an apprenticeship at the Mars works in Nuremberg as a metal foreman and then worked for two years at the Herkules works in Nuremberg and from 1927 at the AEG in Nuremberg . In 1918 he became a member of the Free Socialist Youth and soon afterwards of the SPD. After 1933 he worked illegally for the SPD and was briefly imprisoned in 1934. During the Second World War he was an inspector for grinding and electroplating as well as an auditor at AEG. He then became head of operations at AEG Nürnberg and took part in the restoration of the plant. However, he was given leave of absence when he became party secretary of the SPD in Fürth. In 1946 he became a member of the city council. He was also chairman of the "Eigenes Heim" building cooperative in Fürth. Also in 1946 he was a member of the state constitutional assembly and then until 1970 a member of the Bavarian state parliament . From 1950 he always succeeded in winning the direct mandate in the Fürth-Stadt district . In 1949 Gräßler took part in the first federal assembly as one of the delegates of the Bavarian state parliament .
