Fritz Messner (hockey player)
Friedrich "Fritz" Messner (born January 18, 1912 in Berlin ; † November 7, 1945 in Charkiw ) was a German hockey player .
Fritz Messner played for Berliner SV 92 , with whom he became German champion in hockey in 1940 . The striker made his debut in 1934 in the German national hockey team . At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin Messner played three games, in the semifinals against the Netherlands he scored one goal. Messner was also in the final in the 8-1 defeat against the then unbeatable Indians and received the silver medal with his teammates. Fritz Messner played a total of 28 international matches from 1934 to 1942.
