Fritz Obrutschka

Fritz Obrutschka (born July 12, 1894 in Vienna ; † November 6, 1956 in Schwarzach im Pongau ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and hotelier. He was mayor of Bad Gastein from 1936 to 1938 and a member of the Austrian National Council from 1945 to 1948 .

education and profession

Obrutschka attended elementary school from 1900 to 1905 and the public school in Vienna from 1905 to 1908. From 1908 to 1911 he completed an apprenticeship at the Hotel Klomser in Vienna and the hotel management school in Vienna. After internships abroad between 1911 and 1914 in Paris and London and took over the position of hotel director in Gablonz an der Neisse in 1914 . He served between 1916 and 1918 in the First World War and from 1927 was a hotelier in the Hotel Tauernbahn in Böckstein .

Politics and functions

After working as government commissioner in Bad Gastein between 1935 and 1936, he was the mayor of the Bad Gastein community between 1936 and 1938. From 1937 to 1938 he was President of the Austrian Healing Band Association and from 1934 to 1938 a member of the State Trade Council and Chairman of the District Trade Association of Gastein as well as Deputy State Guild Master. Obrutschka represented the ÖVP between December 19, 1945 and February 11, 1948 in the National Council.
