Fritz Raber

Fritz Raber (born August 23, 1940 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian legal scholar .

After receiving his doctorate in Graz (1962) and his habilitation (1968) at the University of Salzburg , Raber was appointed associate professor for Roman law at the University of Innsbruck in 1969 . The following year he was appointed full professor of Roman law and civil law. Until his retirement he was head of the Institute for Roman Law.

For his research work he received the Theodor Körner Prize (1968) and the Cardinal Innitzer Prize (1968) as well as an honorary doctorate in law. His main research interests are the basic questions of private law.
