Fritz Riege

Fritz Riege (born January 26, 1927 in Züllichau ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

biography

After finishing school, Fritz Riege did military service in the Wehrmacht . He became a prisoner of war. After his release he worked as a bookseller for some time. He then completed his studies and worked for the German Trade Union Federation, for the Bremen Chamber of Crafts and in the regional association of Lower Saxony local health insurance funds. From 1970 to 1974 he worked in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Federal Affairs as State Secretary, and from 1990 to 1994 in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Social Affairs as State Secretary. Riege was involved in numerous positions. He joined the trade union for public services, transport and traffic and the workers' welfare and became a member of the Reichsbund , for which he temporarily took over the chairmanship of the Celle district association. In Celle he also became a member of the SPD party council, member of the city council from 1961 to 1970 and for some time also second deputy mayor of the city.

From June 6, 1967 to September 30, 1970 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (6th and 7th electoral terms) and from June 21, 1974 to June 20, 1990 in the 8th to 11th electoral term. From September 18, 1974 to May 5, 1976 he took over the chairmanship of the Committee on Social and Health Services.

He is married and has two children.
