Fritz Schmid

Fritz Schmid (born June 18, 1972 in Linz ) is an Austrian musical singer (tenor) who has been working in Germany and Austria since 1997.

Life

Fritz Schmid grew up as the youngest of three siblings in Linz, Austria. Even as a teenager he performed worldwide with the Bachl Choir . After graduating from high school in 1990, Schmid studied technical physics and mathematics at the University of Linz.

In 1994 the Austrian decided to pursue a musical career and completed training in acting and singing at the renowned Vienna Conservatory. During his training he already appeared as “PIPPIN” in “PIPPIN” and as “TONY” in the West Side Story , as well as in the musicals at the Akzent Theater in Vienna: Into the woods as “Hans” and as “Jesus “In Jesus Christ Superstar . Fritz Schmid graduated from the Conservatory in 1997 with a diploma.

He received his first engagement at the Theater an der Wien. There he was on stage with “Anatevka” in 1997, before he then took on the cover of Rudolf in “Elisabeth”. Since 1998 the artist has also been delighting audiences in Germany with “Joseph” in Essen and as the first cast of “Alfred” at Tanz der Vampire in Stuttgart. Fritz Schmid was part of the premiere cast of the German premiere of Mozart! - the musical in Hamburg. Under the direction of Harry Kupfer he played the leading role in the Neue Flora: "Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart". From autumn 2004 to the end of 2005 Fritz Schmid was again on stage as Rudolph in the Theater an der Wien.

Fritz Schmid also teaches speaking technique and singing in Vienna, and in the summer of 2005 he directed the Broadway Connection production "Cindy´s Dream", which premiered at the Akzent Theater in Vienna.

In addition to his musical engagements, Fritz Schmid takes part in musical galas as a soloist.

In 2005 Fritz Schmid was part of the ensemble for the first time in a world premiere in the Raimund Theater in Vienna at REBECCA under the direction of Francesca Zambello.
