Fritz Schulenburg
Fritz Schulenburg (born September 4, 1894 in Jerichow ; † August 5, 1933 in Tangermünde ) was a German worker and resistance fighter.
Life
Fritz Schulenburg was born the son of a worker. After attending elementary school, he worked as a forest and agricultural worker. In 1920 he became a member of the KPD and from 1933 worked illegally in the resistance against National Socialism. In July 1933 Schulenburg was arrested and taken to Tangermünde Prison, where he was mistreated and tortured. Schulenburg died of the consequences in August 1933. A memorial stone was unveiled in Jerichow in 1984 to commemorate him. A street in Tangermünde bears his name.
