Fritz Stoeckl

Fritz Stöckl (born January 8, 1912 in Ober Sankt Veit ; † October 12, 1989 in Bad Ischl ) was an Austrian lawyer and railway writer.

After law studies and the subsequent promotion Fritz Stöckl was a notary in Bad Ischl down. As a wealthy lawyer, Stöckl pursued his hobby as a globetrotter and railroad enthusiast for decades . He traveled the railways of all continents, often with his family.

From the 1950s onwards he reported on his travels in numerous books and magazine articles and presented railway lines and special trains around the world. He was particularly interested in upscale travel in dining and sleeping cars , so some of his books were particularly dedicated to these vehicles.
