Fritz Tiede (born June 1, 1929 in Cologne ; † February 2, 2008 ) was a German football player who was under contract with Rapid Cologne and Bayer 04 Leverkusen .

Tiede played in the youth team of Mülheimer SV 06 (predecessor club of Viktoria Köln ), for whom he made his competitive debut at the age of 16 after losing a regular player due to injury. The young Tiede maintained his place as a striker in the first team. In 1949 the striker was appointed to the Cologne city team.

In 1949 MSV merged with VfR Cologne in 1949 to form Rapid Cologne. With a sixth and seventh place in the 1949/50 and 1950/51 seasons , the club was initially able to assert itself in the midfield of the second-class II Division . Tiede was the top scorer with 28 goals.

For the next season, the "long Fritz" moved to the upper league (at that time the highest German division) to Bayer 04 Leverkusen . In his first season the Werkself remained unbeaten until the away game at FC Schalke 04 on matchday 12 and ended the season in 6th place, to which Tiede contributed six goals. In his second season under the Bavarian cross, Tiede became the best goalscorer for the Farbenstadt team with twelve goals in 19 games. Just like in the 1954/55 season, in which he scored 13 goals and finished third in the table with Bayer. For a long time, the Werkself fought a duel with SV Sodingen for second place, which would have allowed them to take part in the final round of the German championship. However, the Leverkusen team gave up a 2-0 lead in the decisive game against their opponents and also missed a penalty.

In the following season, Tiede played for Leverkusen for the last time on the seventh match day and then had to end his career at the age of just 26 due to an injury to his right knee. Despite the only five appearances this season, the "long Fritz" still scored seven goals and was the top scorer of the Farbenstadt team, who had to be relegated from the league at the end of the season.
