Fritz Willi Krohn , often run as FW Krohn (born May 8, 1898 in Annaberg , Saxony , † September 27, 1944 in Karlsbad , Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia ) was a German film architect .

Life

At the beginning of the First World War, Krohn received artistic training at the Royal Art School in Berlin. In 1915 he began to work as a theater painter and later also as a stage designer. Since 1919 FW Krohn has designed the buildings for a considerable number of films, consistently simple mass entertainment without great demands from the hands of rather insignificant directors.

In sound films, Krohn had to be content with setting up short films. His career ended at the beginning of the 1940s with the sets for a little-known Nazi propaganda documentary with a game plot. Krohn died at the end of the Second World War in the German-occupied spa town of Karlsbad.
