Fritz van Briessen
Fritz van Briessen (born July 16, 1906 in Colmar ; † 1987 ) was a German writer and diplomat. From 1961 to 1962 he was the German ambassador to Japan .
Life
Fritz van Briessen was a correspondent for the Kölnische Zeitung in China from 1940 to 1949 . Between 1955 and 1963 he worked for the Foreign Office in Japan. In the 1970s he was chairman of the German Society for East Asian Studies .
