Fritzholm

Fritzholm (also Friderichsholm , Danish Fredsholm ) is a mansion on Lolland .

history

Fritzholm was built in 1630 at the instigation of Oelgard von Barnewitz . She owned a lot of land in the area and bought more for her estates, including Rubiergard . She named the estate "Fritzholm" after her son Friderich von Barnewitz. In 1648 he got his mother's property transferred. At that time Friderich von Barnewitz was one of the four richest men in Denmark. After he died in 1653 at the age of 31, his property, and with it Fritzholm, went to his daughter Øllegaard, who married Christian von Bülow in 1674 . He sold the estate to his brother-in-law Joachim Christiansen von Bülow. He died childless, which is why Fritzholm and Rubiergard were divided among many heirs. Only Frederik Barnewitz was able to reunite the two estates in 1723. His son Casper Frederik Barnewitz von Bülow sold the goods to Ida Margrethe Knuth in 1755, who bequeathed the goods to her son Conrad Detlev Knuth . In 1819 the administrator of Carl Conrad Gustav Knuth sold Fritzholm.
