Carl Conrad Gustav Knuth

Leaning baron Carl Conrad Gustav Knuth-Conradsborg zu Rudbjerggaard, Fredsholm and Gottesgabe (born November 20, 1761 in Copenhagen , † December 20, 1815 at Rudbjerggård ) was a Danish postal director and chamberlain .

Life

Carl Conrad Gustav Knuth came from the ancient noble family Knuth and was the eldest son of the court hunter and Højesteretassessor Conrad Detlev Knuth and Conradine Augusta Knuth, née Reventlow . In 1783 Knuth became a chamberlain, in 1785 he graduated as a cand.jur. and became an auscultant in the Rentekammeret . In 1801 he became third director in the general post office and member of the post office pension fund management. In 1802 Knuth became chamberlain and second director. 1804 became the head of the department for Danish postal affairs. In 1808 Knuth took part in the negotiations on the abolition of the Danish post office in Hamburg . In 1809 he said goodbye after several years of illness and retired to his Dutch estates Fredsholm, Gottesgabe and Rudbjerggård.

Marriages and offspring

On February 23, 1766 Knuth married Susanna le Sage de Fontenay in the Holmens Kirke in Copenhagen . The court hunter Carl Conrad Gustav Knuth (1796–1855) came from the marriage .

On March 22, 1815 Knuth married Christiane Louise Humble in Tillitse .
