Adam Christoph von Knuth
Liege Count Adam Christoph von Knuth (also Adam Christoph Knuth von Knuthenborg ; Danish: Adam Christopher Knuth-Knuthenborg ; born September 28, 1687 ; † January 23, 1736 in Knuthenborg ) was a Danish chamberlain , privy councilor and first liege count of Knuthenborg.
Life
Knuth was born in 1687 as the eighth of eleven children of Eckhard Christoph von Knuth , Count von Knuth and Søster von Knuths . 1705 to 1707 he studied at the knight academy in Copenhagen . In 1714, at the instigation of his mother, he was raised to the rank of count and in 1723 founded the county of Knuthenborg. Therefore he sold his Mecklenburg goods to the Mecklenburg-Strelitz court master von Ferber. In 1727 he received the Dannebrogden and in 1731 became a privy councilor .
Marriages and offspring
On June 26, 1713 he married in Vor Frue Kirke Hedevig Ulrikke Luxdorph, daughter of Bolle Luxdorph. She died on January 21, 1720. With the marriage he was able to appropriate Sørup . From the marriage came:
- Countess Frederikke Louise Knuth (born January 14, 1720 in Copenhagen; † February 21, 1793), married to feudal baron Vilhelm Güldencrone
On December 16, 1721 Knuth married Ida Margrethe von Reventlow (1701–1757), daughter of the privy councilor Ditlev Reventlow . He had eight children with her:

- Baron Ditlev (born June 2, 1726 in Copenhagen, † May 7, 1727 in Knuthenborg)

- Lehnsbaron Christian Friderich (1728–1801), founder of the Christiansdal line
- Lehnsbaron Conrad Detlev (1730–1805), founder of the Conradsborg line
- Countess Sophie Magdalene (* July 15, 1732 in Flensburg; † May 7, 1790 in Copenhagen), married to Georg Frederik von Holstein (1717–1772)
- Baron Adam Levin Knuth (born March 31, 1735 in Knuthenborg, † February 11, 1737 in Knuthenborg)
