Christian Friderich Knuth

Lehnsbaron Christian Friderich Knuth-Christiansdal , Danish Christian Frederik Knuth-Christiandal (born April 4, 1728 in Copenhagen ; † December 26, 1801 ibid) was a Danish military and landlord. He founded the Christiansdal line of the Knuth family .

Life

Christian Frederik Knuth was born on April 4, 1728, the fourth of eight children in Adam Christoph von Knuth's second marriage . That same day he was baptized in the Holmens Kirke in Copenhagen . His mother was Ida Margarethe von Knuth, née Reventlow. The oldest brother Christian, Eggert Christopher continued the Knuthenborg line .

On August 2, 1743 Christian Frederik got the patent for the Christiansdal barony . The baronies, Frederiksdal (1752–1784), Søllestedgård (1757), Asserstrup (1763–1784), Skaftelevgård (1766–1776) and Nøjsomhed (1786) followed later .

In 1749 Christian Frederik became second lieutenant in the navy, later he switched to the army and in 1751 became captain . In 1752 he came to the Jutian knight regiment and in 1757 took his leave with the character of a lieutenant colonel and became chamberlain in the same year . On January 29, 1770 he was awarded the Ordre de l'union parfaite and on January 29, 1774 he was knight of the Dannebrogden.

Marriages and offspring

On September 22, 1770, Christian Frederik was married to Anne Christine von der Osten (1720–1791) in Trondheim . The marriage had five children:

• Ide Margrethe Knuth-Christiansdal (born May 29, 1754 - † October 28, 1804) ⚭ Christian Frederik Haxthausen af ​​Tienhausen (1754–1790), major and chamberlain
• Adam Christopher Knuth-Christiansdal (* July 21, 1755 - December 19, 1844), received the dignity of count

All children had the title baron or baroness.

On October 13, 1791, Christian Frederik married Charlotte Mathilde von Staffeldt in Copenhagen. The marriage remained childless.
