Count Adam Christopher Knuth-Christiansdal (born July 21, 1755 in Holbæk , † December 19, 1844 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish count, chamberlain and privy councilor.

Life

Adam Christopher Knuth was born in 1755 as the son of Christian Frederik Knuth and Anne Christine Knuth in the Mecklenburg-Danish noble family von Knuth . On December 10, 1763, Adam became Christopher's cornet. On November 29, 1766, he became Premier Lieutenant in the Fyn Cavalry Regiment. In 1771 he went to the Sorø Akademi . On October 21, 1774 he became a chamberlain. On June 28, 1780 he received his farewell as Rittmeister. On February 28, 1781 he became chamberlain. On July 10, 1810, he was awarded the title of Count. On January 28, 1817, he became a secret conference councilor.

On June 21, 1782, Adam married Christopher Countess Sophie Magdalena Moltke (1765–1829). There were four children from marriage:

  • Sophie Hedevig Knuth-Christiansdal (born October 9, 1784; † January 17, 1819) ⚭ Severin Løvenskiold (1777–1856), chamberlain, bailiff, minister of state
  • Annette Christiane Knuth-Christiansdal (* February 24, 1787; † March 24, 1873) ⚭ Herman Hermansen Løvenskiold (1777–1843), land and sea war commissioner
  • Christian Frederik Knuth-Christiansdal (* March 22, 1788; † November 24, 1852)
  • Siegfriede Victorine Knuth-Christiansdal (born May 30, 1790; † August 3, 1866) ⚭ Gerhard Christopher von Krogh (1785–1860), lieutenant general and chamberlain

All daughters bore the title of Countess ("Komtesse").
