Cornelius Pedersen Lark

Cornelius Pedersen Lerche (born October 31, 1615 in Nyborg ; † January 3, 1681 in Nielstrup ) was a Danish nobleman and monastery administrator .

Life

Lerche was the third of three sons of Peder Nielsen , mayor and customs officer in Nyborg , and Sidsel Knudsdatter. Lerche's mother was the widow of a former mayor of the city, Mads Lerche, and her sons carried the surname Lerche despite the new marriage. In 1633 Lerche went to the Sorø Akademi and then studied for a few years in Leiden and Padua . In 1642 he returned to Denmark. From 1650 to 1653 he was at the Spanish court, on his return he became royal councilor. In 1670 Lerche was appointed to the chancellery and in 1671 to the state council. The following year he was appointed bailiff of Lolland and Falster . He bought the three estates on LollandNielstrup , Aarsmarke and Bramslykke . Aarsmarke passed into the possession of the Knuth family as an inheritance from his daughter .

Lerche was buried in the cemetery of Nicolai Kirke in Copenhagen .

Marriages and offspring

On August 1, 1647, Lerche married Søster Fuiren, who died a year later at the age of twenty.

On June 7, 1657 he married the widow Anne Kirstine Henriksdatter Friis († 1659) in the Copenhagen Trinitatis Kirke . The daughter Søster Lerche (1658–1723) was born from the marriage .

After the death of his second wife, Lerche married Sidsel Jacobsdatter Grubbe (1648-1716) on June 23, 1665. The son Christian Corneliusen Lerche (1667–1720) was born from the marriage.
