Knuthenborg
Knuthenborg (German: Knuthenburg or Knuthenberg ; formerly Årsmarke ) is an old estate that is located on the Danish island of Lolland . It is located north of Maribo and was first mentioned in 1372. Knuthenborg has been in the Knuth family since 1681 and was part of the Knuthenborg feudal county from 1714 to 1919 . The estate has served as a safari park since 1969 .
Knuthenborg was built by HS Sibbern from 1865 to 1866 and expanded in 1885. Today it forms Northern Europe's largest English-style park and is one of Denmark's most visited tourist attractions. The estate has a total size of 2338 hectares.
