from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wentzloff IV von Knuth (* 1580 in Leizen ; † July 1658 ibid) was a German nobleman and provisional officer of the Malchow monastery . He was the heir to Leizen, Priborn, Spitzkuhn and Melz.

Life

Wentzloff IV von Knuth was born in 1580 as the only child of Jacob von Knuth and his wife Anna (occasionally also called Sophie) in the von Knuth family of the Mecklenburg nobility . Wentzloff's father died in 1597 and he became the sole heir of Leizen. He later bought Priborn from a cousin. With the pay of his son Jacob Ernst von Knuth, who served as Rittmeister , on Leizen and Priborn , Wentzloff was able to compensate for his financial losses caused by the Thirty Years' War . It also turned out to be useful that the Malchow Monastery selected him as provisional in 1639, as the previous provisional, Andreas Pritzbuers auf Schwetz , had previously been different. However, he did not receive the confirmation for the provisional office until February 18, 1641

On September 9, 1645, he transferred half of Priborn to Jürgen von Oldenburg .

Marriage and offspring

Wentzloff married his second cousin Anna von Knuth. The marriage had five children:
