Conrad Detlev Knuth

Leaning baron Conrad Detlev Knuth-Conradsborg zu Rubiergard , Gottesgabe and Fritzholm (Danish Conrad Ditlev lensbaron Knuth-Conradsborg til Rudbjerggård, Gottesgabe og Fredsholm ; * February 20, 1730 in Copenhagen ; † September 13, 1805 ) was a Danish chamberlain, privy councilor and founder of the Knuth-Conradsborg line.

Life

Conrad Detlev Knuth came from the ancient noble family Knuth and was the fourth son of the chamberlain and privy councilor Adam Christoph von Knuth and his second wife Ida Margrethe Knuth, nee. Reventlow.

In 1740 Knuth began his training at the knight academy in Sorø . In 1743 he became an assessor at Højesteret , in 1748 he was "assessor auscultans" and later he was given a seat at Højesteret.

On August 2, 1743 Knuth received the baron patent for Conradsborg . On November 28, 1757 he was appointed chamberlain. On January 29, 1767 he received the Ordre de l'union parfaite . On January 29, 1769 he was made a white knight. In 1776 he was appointed privy councilor.

Marriage and offspring

On April 27, 1757 Knuth married Countess Conradine Augusta Reventlow (born November 12, 1736 in Svendborg , † September 27, 1809 in Maribo ) in Brahetrolleborg Slot.

The marriage had seven children, all of whom bore the title of baron or baroness:
