Frode Grytten

Frode Grytten (born December 11, 1960 in Odda ) is a Norwegian writer . He writes in Nynorsk .

Born in Odda in 1960, he made his debut as a poet with the poetry collection Start . His first novel Bikubesong (German title: What in life counts ) was a great success in 1999. In 24 portraits, the novel tells in a sensitive, profound, but also comical way about the life of the people in the small town of Odda, where Grytten grew up.

For his previous work he has received numerous prizes, such as the important Bragepreis, the Norwegian Language Prize and the 2005 Riverton Prize for his crime novel Flytande bjørn .

Grytten now lives in Bergen , where he wrote for years as a journalist for the Bergens Tidende , but is currently fully dedicated to his writing ambitions.
