Frog Island is an uninhabited island on the north side of the Thames in Rainham in the London Borough of Havering .

use

There is a mechanical-biological waste treatment facility operated by the East London Waste Authority on the island . The plant converts 50% of the treated waste into substitute fuel and sorts out glass and metal. Today the island is only separated by a ditch and appears as a depression with a relative height of 2 m compared to the shore. It was once a clearly demarcated island in the mouth of the Ingrebourne River when the tide was high .
