The Ingrebourne River (also River Ingrebourne ) is a tributary of the Thames in London , England .
The Ingrebourne River is a drainage of South Weald Lake in Weald Country Park on the northeastern edge of Brentwood in Essex . It flows in a south to south-westerly direction over its entire course initially under the name Weald Brook and crosses the M25 north of junction 28. From the Nags Head Lane sewage treatment plant , it bears the name Ingrebourne River. It flows in the London Borough of Havering between Upminster and Hornchurch in the wetland of the Ingrebourne Marshes southeast of Hornchurch. ( 51 ° 31 '52 " N , 0 ° 12" 42 " E ) It flows southwest of Rainham near Frog Island under the name Rainham Creek into the Thames.
The Ingrebourne Marshes are a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a nature reserve.
