Front of Morges

The Morges Front was a political agreement concluded on February 16, 1936 in Morges, Switzerland (canton of Vaud ) between leading democratic Polish politicians with the aim of overthrowing the Sanacja rule.

Ignacy Jan Paderewski was the host and initiator of the alliance . He was supported by the later Prime Minister in exile, General Władysław Sikorski , his army colleague Józef Haller , the leader of the PSL Piast (Peasant Party) Wincenty Witos and the Upper Silesian politician Wojciech Korfanty .

A year later, the Christian Democratic Party ( Polskie Stronnictwo Chrześcijańskiej Demokracji ) joined forces with the National Workers' Party ( Narodowa Partia Robotnicza ) to form the Labor Party ( Stronnictwo Pracy ).
