The frog museum is located in the Neumünchenstein district of Münchenstein ( Basel-Landschaft , Switzerland). The museum is open every first Sunday of the month from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. It shows around 14,000 different frog figures, objects with frog images and everyday objects in the shape of a frog.

history

The Froschmuseum was opened in 1981/82 on a private basis by the couple Elfi and Rolf Rindlisbacher with around 5,000 collector's items. In 1993 the collection was so large that it was entered in the Guinness Book of Records . The exhibition area soon had to be enlarged, as the couple received some collections as gifts and were thus able to expand their own collection. Today the museum has around 14,000 "frogs" of very different sizes and materials (glass, semi-precious stone, wood, metal, porcelain, candle wax, suede, cardboard, marzipan or chocolate). On April 1, 2012, the Froschmuseum Münchenstein celebrated its 20th anniversary.
