Frozen Plasma is a German electro-pop group.

history

After his band NamNamBulu broke up in 2005, keyboardist and songwriter Vasi Vallis looked around for new challenges and toured with the well-known future pop band VNV Nation , among others . Vasi Vallis was a live keyboard player on this tour . During this same tour he met Felix Marc at a joint concert by VNV Nation and Diorama and, according to his own statement, immediately fell in love with his voice.

The first Frozen Plasma single Hypocrite was released on November 18, 2005, at which time Felix Marc and Vasi Vallis had only known each other for a few months. The single entered the top ten of the German Alternative Charts (DAC) straight away. Before the release of the album Artificial , which appeared on April 21, 2006 , Frozen Plasma played at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen and the Orkus Festival, as well as the Summer Darkness Festival in the Netherlands. The second single Irony followed on July 21, 2006 and made it to number 3 in the DAC. A short time later, the mix EP Emphasize was released. On September 19, 2008, the EP Tanz die Revolution was released , which includes the eponymous and most successful single in the band's history. The song also stormed the international clubs, so it was also released in Spanish, Italian and English. On April 3, 2009, Frozen Plasma released their maxi single Earthling - like the 2009 albums Monumentum and Tour Monument , it reached top positions in the German alternative charts. In addition, the band has published numerous sampler contributions since 2004.

After various festival appearances and concerts around the world, as well as two live recordings (a live recording of the Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2012 was published in 2012), Vasi Vallis and his bandmate took a creative break, which included two solo albums by Felix Marc and over 40 songs for a new Frozen Plasma album through Vasi Vallis. Since it is impossible to fit so many songs on just one album, the 12 most promising were selected in order to come up with the 2015 musical work of the duo entitled “Decadence”. The pre-release single "Herz" reached number 3 on the DAC and the single "Crazy" stayed at number 1 on the DAC for a full 6 weeks despite skepticism from its own musical ranks. On “Dekadenz” there is also a cover of the Synthipop classic Living on Video by the group Trans-X from 1983.

Frozen Plasma is under contract with the German independent label Infacted Recordings .

Solo activities

Singer Felix Marc is still a member of the band Diorama and works as a successful solo artist. Songwriter and melody maker Vasi Vallis has brought NamNamBulu back to life together with singer Henrik Iversen, is also involved in the REAPER music project with Gregor Beyerle and works as a producer for various scene bands.
